Arthur Cravan Foundation and Cosmic Things announces the Senseless Residency Program that provides a place for developing and working on projects deemed to be "senseless": beyond the common good sense, standards, norms and normalization of the time… of this time.

During the residency it will be possible to develop senseless projects / ideas / actions / timeouts that require space and time alternative to the usual rhythms of production / performance and use / consumption. A place where it is possible to implement a state of acceleration or deceleration.

WHO

The residencies are open to artists, researchers, scientists, philosophers, curators, critics, writers, directors, poets… There are no restrictions regarding nationality or age.

HOW AND HOW LONG

Senseless Residence offers lodging without meals or travel expenses.

The residency period is maximum of 15 days. If necessary to the project, the residency period may be used as two or more separate stays.

The space provided for the residency is a studio flat (25 sq. meters) fully equipped with bathroom and kitchen for a convenient stay in Milan’s Chinatown. The residence accommodation is not equipped as a work space.

The residency is also open to groups but the space is suitable for a maximum occupancy of 2 persons (1 bed + sofa bed).

RESIDENCY PERIOD

2020: from April to June and September to November

– short biography and CV

– brief statement

– description of the ‘senseless project’

– information on the residency period

– portfolio and more info on the research or work (optional)

The candidates with the projects selected will be contacted by the Cose Cosmiche team to agree on the hows and whens of the residency.

DEADLINE

YEAR 2020: within 10 February 2020
Session 2020: maximum 3 senseless residencies. Selected projects will be announced within February 25.
